Setup Project

Jun 30, 2010 at 9:13 PM

Hi,

Great work on this project!  I am having a small problem trying to create a setup project.  If I just a new setup project and add the Primary output from Demo.WindowsPresentation I always generate an the following error:

"Error 1 An error occurred while validating.  HRESULT = '80004005' C:\Scratch\greatmaps_e68f33250c31\Setup1\Setup1.vdproj Setup1"

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Mark

strange, what target do you use?

Jun 30, 2010 at 11:22 PM
Yeah, its pretty strange! I've been trying to resolve this for over a day Sad smile emoticon .
I've been using x86. I think I have all of the relevant projects set in the configuration manager set to x86. Does this work for you right with no problems?
Thanks,
Mark

only the application(*.exe) needs to be x86 if you use sqlite, other projects can be any

I'm only doing x86 because of another project I'm including. If I just use the zip file without modifications (and on another machine) I still get the same results.
Thanks,
Mark

do you talk about setup included in demo solution? it's for mobile, but actually i've never used it ;}

No, I created a new setup program - other projects/setup. I added the WPF demo/primary output. Using VS2008 - that is what generated the error.

well to be sure, i've created setup project included active Demo.WindowsPresentation, works as usual, good ;} try some test console project and make setup for it, maybe visual studio struggling somehow ;}

Ok, thanks. I've tried it on two machines with the same results. Crazy. I've created a lot of setup projects before and have several active setup projects going now with no problems so I'm kind of stuck. Damn. Well thanks for your time anyhow.

So you know here is exactly what I'm doing:
1) Unzip greatmaps-e68f33250c31.zip
2) Add new Setup project (Setup1)
3) Added primary output for Demo.WindowsPresentation. Interesting thing at this point is that NO dependencies show up.
4) After attempting to build I get this:

can't see any images, please fix ;/

Sorry, I'll try an attachment instead (just one screen shot shows both the error and the fact there is no dependencies).

one project doesn't build, unload testing projects

Jul 1, 2010 at 9:38 PM
I removed all testing project, all windows forms project and just left Demo.Windows.Presentation, GMap.Net.Core, and GMap.NetWindowsPresentation. I cleaned, rebuilt and ran with no problems.
I deleted the setup project, added a new one and had the same results:
Error 1 An error occurred while validating. HRESULT = '80004005' C:\Scratch\greatmaps-e68f33250c31\greatmaps_e68f33250c31\Setup2\Setup2.vdproj Setup2
I'm running VS2008 (9.307291.1 SP) on all of my machines - all having the same problem.. could this be the issue?
