Dinamic Map Address

Jul 23, 2010 at 12:24 PM

Hi,

Map server can set up local networks to work elsewhere. Map server for that address should change dynamically. But the method of the addresses are internal. Is it possible for us to override that?

what server? Global servers do not change, if you have your own server, then the only option is to change code

I see. I did override, but it did not work. How do I override this function? Maps server's address is dynamically. For many customers we have established a map server.

..you can't just override, you need to add new MapType, adjust projection and servers url, if they are public i can integrate them

Map type already exists(Pergo Map). But the web address can be different. For example, some customers are working the internal network, no internet. Therefore, there are two options.
1) Each customer will need to compile a different dll. But this is not required because the automatic update problem.
2) Override will have to do. I needed to override things I do every time. You do not need to change. I'll be glad if you could help on how to do.

no internet == CacheOnly mode, so just prepare cache and use it

Hi radioman,

I think I can not explain my problem.

No Internet but for example Map server IP adress is 192.168.1.120. And I don't use "maps.pergo.com.tr" allready, for example, I want to use "192.168.1.120". So I must be override. How can be override? Cache and maptype doesnt solution for me.

Thanks.

Well, now you can add some code yourself to provide server name dynamically, i'll include that functionality after my short holidays ;}

Or you can Alter the code to access XXX.somedomain.com inside the DLL code.

and on the customer machine you alter the Hosts file and connect the above domain with the IP

Hi krneki99

Thanks for isue. I thought changing the host file, but I think the dynamic address is better solution.
