Use GMap.Net in MFC application

I am trying to use the GMap.Net for WPF component in an MFC-based application.  The application has the code to draw objects (e.g., points, lines that link the points on a map). I want to leverage the existing unmanaged drawing code for now.  My question is if it is possible to draw a native layer on top of the WPF map control and what will be the best approach to do so.  It would be ideal if I could display the native layer and synch operations like zoom, dezoom, and scale, etc.

So far, I am able to embed the WPF map control in the CView derived class and display the map as the SDI view via the HwndSource.

Any suggestins will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
