google map api v3

I am concerned that grabbing routes from google won't work after may 19, 2013.

Inside greatmaps, the current requests (v2) look like this:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&output=dragdir&doflg=p&hl=en&mra=ls&dirflg=d&q=&saddr=@37.7,-122.4&daddr=@37.7,-122.4"

Shouldn't it use this format (v3) with client, key pairs on the end for >2500 accesses/day?
https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?v=3.exp&sensor=false"

Note: I am working from greatmaps about 2 months old.

Thanks for any leads!

Radioman,
I asked on googlegroup and below is their reply.
BTW, what I really want to know is if greatmaps is "moving" to googleapi or if I should start that work myself??
I need to be sure ROUTEs work....

to Google-Maps-API
That endpoint, is not part of ANY API, you should expect it to break as of yesterday.

Instead should be using one of the real APIs as documented
https://developers.google.com/maps/
then you can be more confident they wont just disappear.

Will this method of getting ROUTES from Google dissappear May 19?:

Will it really do "ERR 404" or such? or will it work for ROUTES since they aren't really maps?

I want to "Let it Ride" and hope for the best, but I can't help feel that it will instantly go away.
Our developers think that even though googleapis are coming, they aren't necessary for ROUTES.

Thanks for clarifying
