Raster file

Hi, is it possible to import a "raster file" (bitmap with georeferencing information) and use it as a map ?

Best regards.

what raster, what georeferencing information?

Thanks for your update.

As for the raster, I'm talking about a scanned map or an indoor map (non-georeferenced PNG file).

Regarding the georeferencing, I was thinking of assigning each of the four corner XY coordinates of the raw map a coordinate pair.

What do you think ?

Hi, is it possible to export a  georeferenced  "raster file"  and use it in ESRI Arcmap  (export raster file with world file) ?

Thank you very much.

Step 1 -  in ArcCatalog set image file's coordinate system  - Geographic Coordinate Systems\World\WGS 1984.prj. Step 2 - in ArcCatalog  ArcToolbox\Project raster   and projected it in desired coordinate system. Step 3 - ArcMap read projected image file with world file.  And work with Google Maps localy.
