ESRI Dynamic Maps & Projection

Nov 3, 2009 at 8:36 AM

Hello

First of all I wanna thank you for this great piece of work! Well done!

My issue

I want to use this control in one of my pending projects. There I want to combine a cached Service with a dynamic service from ESRI.

My first question: Is it possible to overlay a cached mapservice with a dynamic mapservice ('blended' services) in this control?

My second question: My map services are using another tiling sheme (tile size 512,512) and projection (not WGS84). Is it possible to get this services work in the Control by adding a custom projection class?

Thank you & Greets

Thank you for the fast reply.

I'm using custom mapservices created with ArcGIS from ESRI with the following config:

Mapservice 1

  • Type: Dynamic
  • Coordinate System: CH1903_LV03 (GCS_CH1903), Projection: Hotine_Oblique_Mercator_Azimuth_Center

Mapservice 2

I hope this information helps.

Thank you & Greets

The 2 services are accessible via REST.

Dynamic

http://www.ag.ch/geoportal/rest/services/are_bauzonen_lite/MapServer

information: http://www.ag.ch/geoportal/rest/services/are_bauzonen_lite/MapServer?f=json&pretty=true

Cached

http://www.ag.ch/geoportal/rest/services/kai_background/MapServer

information: http://www.ag.ch/geoportal/rest/services/kai_background/MapServer?f=json&pretty=true

If you need more information, I could provide a sample viewer which displays this services.

Thank you very much!

Look at this viewer which is consuming the cached service: cached service

Use firebug to look at the tiles.

Is this the information you need?

i still can't test it ;/ is there some public real working web interface for that?

Hi

A public webinterface for dynamic services is available here (click on the mapimages to open the mapviewer).

If you need more information, please tell me what exactly you need then I can set up a specific service or viewer to test with.

Thank you & Greets

Hm.. kinda weird.

So never mind, I try it by myself. Therefore I need some information from you:

If I want to consume my services, what I have to change or consider to customize the sourcecode? I'm asking this because I'm using a different projection and a different tile size. I think I have to write a own projection class but I don't know what else..

Thank you very much
