Google Satellite Not Available..

Dec 30, 2009 at 5:59 PM

Is google earth blocking people from getting the maptiles?  it seems after very little use, it stops working.

Is it possible to set the User-Agent to mimic Google Earth and cause google to stop blocking?

Well, where to add this code? Will it fix the problem?

is the tile source from Google Earth the same as from maps?

Jan 9, 2010 at 11:19 AM

I wont be able to check until Monday..

If anyone wants to check in the meantime what tile server google earth is doing..

download a memory reader (http://www.artmoney.ru/),

select google earth as the process

search for google.com

should give you a bunch of results.... right click on one and click Memory Editor....

Keep clicking "Next" on the bottom left until you see one that looks like a tile server.

If I understand You - yes, the same. For ex. - just select "Google Satellite" (map of entire world) in comboBox of Your example project for windows Forms - there is a picture. Then zoom in twice - there is no picture. And if we select "Google Maps" - all is Ok. But when I was beginning tests - all was Ok with Google Satellite too.

Gmmm... They banned You, then You were browsing via standard browser? Like IE, Mozilla, Opera? They never ban me while I use standard browser. If soo - let's think a little. May be You have included into code some identifier (i have not yet looked Your http requests in GMap), and now we all (!!!) are identified as ONE PERSON? I compile, run project, You run, iifuzz runs, etc. - we all use one identifier, create too many requests - and guys think: Hey!!! This is a bot!!!

the GoogleMapsAPIKey is not used to get tiles, only for geocoding

Try this for the user agent

GMaps.Instance.UserAgent = "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091221 Firefox/3.5.7"

Cheers
