WinForm is fast. but I use windows mobile.

windows mobile's loading time is too long.

it's about 1minute to load first map image. T_T

1minute is normal loading time?

problem with my location?(I'm in korea)

Mobile googlemap(NOT GMAPS) is very fast.
but, GMap is very slow. (based on WindowsMobile's all maps)
what's problem?

use cache, it's fast

Feb 10, 2010 at 12:18 PM

i use cache mode. but it still have a problem.
if i doesn't use server & cache mode, map tiles are all bluescreen.
i don't know this problem.
winform is okay. but windows mobile... i can't see anything.

Feb 10, 2010 at 12:22 PM

yes. i try cacheonlymode. but it's not working good.

some tiles are ok, but other tiles are bluescreen and "We are sorry..."letters.

when i drag other location, new tiles are all bluescreen T_T..

i usecache only mode on my htchd2, and it works perfect, but you must prepare cache in desktop demo using prefetcher

You don't have permission to access "" on this server.

When I upgraded from change set 45992 to 46320 I got quite often temorary blue tiles in cache mode (mobile HD2). Seems to be exception when making bitmap from mem-stream. You don't have this problem radioman? Otherwise it's working fine in cache mode. I'm currently working with exchanging positions with others by use of SMS. MessageInterceptor is however currently not working on HTC HD2  :{

Nice video. You have slightly better performance than me, especially noticable when zooming . (I had to decreased cashe size to 2MB today)  I can aslo see you have different ROM/WM. I don't have time in banner and the menu looks different. Guess I have to download latest ROM from HTC, or do you use some xda stuff?
[os 5.2.21864, manila 2.5, rom 1.43.409.1]

it's standard rom with removed 'sense' ;} and changed start menu links. ..anyway my cache is quite big for mobile, about ~1GB data in sd card(4GB total capacity), tiles are loading quite well, sqlite rocks!. If you found any improvements please share ;}

I don't understand prefetcher.

please explain to me. DETAIL T_T

if i had to install gmap, please explain step by step.

i use with my application but map does not show up.

if i used 'desktop demo using prefetcher', does map show up?

Feb 17, 2010 at 11:17 AM

downloading tiles directly from mobile is quite slow, so we need a cache, so we make it using desktop demos, they have integrated tile downloader. After prefetch complete, copy map cache to your sd card. done ;} You also can run optimizations command using before putting file on mobile.

Feb 17, 2010 at 12:06 PM

but.. i have another question....!!

you said "we make it using desktop demos."

is Demo.WindowsForms or Demo.WindowsPresentation??

where is prefetch file T_T..?

always thanks, radioman :}

Feb 17, 2010 at 1:05 PM

it's deep inside about somewhere C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\GMap.NET\TileDBv3\en

I'll try again and again and again and again.. :)

have a nice day!!

hello again, radioman!

how can i use this file on mobile?

i need that file to save mobile path. but i don't know that path :(

please help me again :}

it's on SD card, run demo once, and it creates folder for you

Feb 18, 2010 at 8:55 AM

i found creates folder and copy to Data.gmdb at mobile device. but it's not working.

i used cache only mode but all tiles are bluscreen T_T...

and i execute demo file(Demo.WindowsMobile) on device,

but not create file. (Data.gmdb)

when i excute demofile on emulator that goes successful.

why that program didn't run on my device(cache only mode)?

Feb 18, 2010 at 9:03 AM

if you want that cache file will be created automatically, on first run set mode to ServerAndCache. Run in debug mode, track whats happening. Then replace that file with your desktop version and run again. It should work, did you try deploy mobile demo and debug it on your device?

Feb 18, 2010 at 11:31 AM

i create mobile application (like.. navigation in WindowsMobile device)

so, i need map use by c#(GMap.NET!)

i've got create file(Data.gmdb) by debug mode. but that file capacity is zero. :(

it's very fast Demo in emulator but in device.....T_T

if you have a manual, please show me

Feb 18, 2010 at 11:40 AM

i can't actually guess what you do until you tell me exact ;}

can you make some breakpoints on starting cache/etc?
